South Carolina Gets Their Game On: The 2008 Turkey Shoot!

November, 2008

The 45th Annual East Cooper Outboard Motor Club (ECOMC) Turkey Shoot was a huge hit this year (pun intended!). If you don’t know much about it, here’s what they entail. Lowcountry Turkey Shoots are a popular, competitive, and fun experience, and it all goes towards local charities. And no, they don’t use real turkeys, but rather paper targets with bullseyes. Participants pay a few dollars to give it their best shot and whoever gets closest to the bullseye gets a supermarket gift certificate for a turkey or ham for the holidays. Over the years, the proceeds have gone to charities like East Cooper Meals on Wheels, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Carolina Children’s Charities and many more! PWCI was proud to support this community event! Kevin Sneed with East Cooper Outboard Motor Club said, “This year with the help of PWCI, we raised $17,000 for charity.”
