Budget$4.9 Million Completion Date2002 |
This was a $4.9 million dollar project for the Oakland Housing Authority. This was a magnificent revisit of an older complex bringing to life an otherwise ordinary dense arrangement. The use of color and gabled form created the character of an established village. As you can see from the before and after pictures, this 157 unit project was transformed into a livable and beautiful project. New roof structures, wrought iron fencing, window coverings, and landscaping changed the exterior from unacceptable to award winning. PWCI was honored with the 1997 Gold Nugget Award for Best Renovated/Restored Single Project and Best Affordable Project.
